Grading

Semester: It refers to the period covering minimum 14 weeks of education and training period and midterm and final exams during an academic year.

  • At least one (1) course including Scientific Research Techniques and Publication Ethics must be given during the postgraduate education and training.
  • The student who has at least 70% of theoretical courses and at least 80% of practical courses cannot take mid-term and / or final exams.
  • Success rate is measured at least twice in a semester. According to the appreciation of the related lecturer, one or both of these can be done in the form of homework, projects, research and / or evaluation of student's participation in the class or similar practice work.
  • Minimum one midterm exam is given for each credit course. At the end of the semester, a final exam is given.
  • The exam grades are given 100 points in full.
  • The student who is not able to take the mid-term exam for a reason that is accepted right and valid by the Institute Administrative Board is taken to the make-up examination provided that the excuse is documented within three (3) days.
  • At the end of the semester, midterm and final exam scores are determined by the instructor graded. The contribution of the final exam score to the end of the semester cannot be less than fifty percent(%50).
  • According to decision of the Institute Administrative Board, both the final exam grade and the end of the semester as a final grade cannot be at least 65 for each course and less than 75 for the Ph.D.
  • Any student whose final grade falls below 65 is considered unsuccessful.
