Cevdet Sakir CETINEL
(1905 Edirne-1989 Istanbul)

Having graduated from primary and secondary schools in Edirne, he attended Kuleli Military High Scool and graduated from Turkish Military Academy as an artillery officer in 1929. He had served in a number of artillery units all around the country and retired in 1960. Upon retirement he worked as manager of the TGA National Palaces.

Despite the fact that researcher and ethnomusicologist Etem Ruhi ÜNGÖR stated in detail in the Journal of Music that Col.Hüsnü ÖNCÜ was the composer and Cevdet Sakir CETİNEL wrote the alma mater lyrics, the military authorities cited that the march composer was registered as Cevdet Sakir CETINEL
