The Regimental Color



It is awarded to brigade and regiment-level units of the Turkish Armed Forces (which have been given the duty of protecting and guarding Turkish homeland and Turkish Republic against internal and external threats) by the President and it is the unit’s epitome of honor.


The color;

  • Blessed with the color of ancestor blood,
  • Its fabric refers to martyr’s skin,
  • Its glitter reflects victories’ shimmer,
  • Its crest and star represents freedom and independence,
  • Its script points at heroism and virtue,
  • Its pole embodies national sovereignty,
  • Its golden thread symbolizes honor and responsibility.


On August 24, 1934 it has been entrusted to the Turkish Military Academy Cadet Corps by the commander of İstanbul, lieutenant general Ömer Halis BIYIKTAY. The Cadet Corps Regimental Color, which has been preserved immaculately by the cadets who have taken their oaths under its shade and been inspired by this proud school, is the mother to all the colors because the commanders of all the colors in the Army which has a history full of glory and victory have taken their oaths in this proud school and in front of this Color.
