Department of Geotechnics

It is the branch of civil engineering, which examines the physical, chemical and engineering properties of the land on which all kinds of buildings will be constructed and examines the underground parts of the buildings. Soil mechanics and groundwork are the main areas of expertise.

Purpose:

• To be able to investigate the physical properties of the soil and to classify the grounds,


• To be able to determine the bearing capacity of the floor,


• To be able to determine changes in soil characteristics as a result of interaction with water.
